Y&R star Brytni Sarpy gears up for a good cause
As Dr. Elena Dawson in The Young and the Restless, Brytni Sarpy helps people. Offscreen, the actress displays that same desire as she prepares to help support a very worthy cause. Read on to see what she had to say about this cause close to her heart.
Brytni Sarpy shows his support
Brytni Sarpy recently shared on social media the news that she was competing in the 2021 Malibu Triathlon to support pediatric cancer research at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
âFor more than five decades, doctors, researchers and staff at the Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles have been saving children’s lives and working to increase cure rates through innovative clinical research and care programs, academic excellence and leadership, âSarpy explained on his fundraising page.
As Y&R fans may know, the show touched on cancer on the show. The character of the original series Jennifer Brooks (Dorothy Green) died of breast cancer in the 1970s. Years ago, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) fought it, and more recently Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) ) fought him.
Why Brytni Sarpy Goes Physical
âCBDI provides access to the latest treatment options tested in clinical trials through our participation in national and international research consortia,â adds Sarpy. âEach year, CBDI recruits more than 1,612 children in approximately 180 clinical trials and other research studies. I hope you will join me in supporting pediatric cancer research by making a donation to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles.
“Your charitable donation will make a difference in the lives of many young patients and their families,” notes the television doctor. âAny amount, big or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us create hope and build a healthier future for families in our region and beyond. Thank you!”
Sarpy’s path to Y&R
Sarpy joined Y&R in 2019 after a stint as Valerie Spencer at General Hospital. The character of Elena Dawson helped fill the void left in Devon’s (Bryton James) love life after the death of his beloved Hilary (Mishael Morgan). While things haven’t worked out with Elena and Devon, offscreen their performers are happily stepping out.
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtime. For more on what’s going on in Los Angeles, check out all the latest published B&B spoiler info, and for a detailed look at the show’s history, click here.
