The young and the restless C&G News

Have any new actors or actresses been cast for the series in contract, recurring, or daytime roles? Are well-known or beloved stars from other soap operas, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in some new surprise parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap opera.

The week of October 10, 2022

A daytime alum heads for the soap. James Hyde, who played Sam in Passions and Neil in Another World, has been cast as Jeremy Stark. The character is someone from Diane Jenkin’s (Susan Walters) past and begins airing later this month.

Youth and troubled history

Y&R debuted in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has survived other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in.

From the family machinations of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to the heart of Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) to the complicated love story of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), Y&R knows how to entertain and retain the fans.
