THE PRIVATE PUBLIC GALLERY is proud to present, “RESTLESS”, a solo exhibition featuring the latest paintings by KATHRYN LYNCH
Curated by the director of the Private Public Gallery, Christopher Freeman, this is the gallery’s first solo exhibition, featuring large-scale works by KATHRYN LYNCH.
HUDSON, NEW YORK, USA, April 9, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Private Public Gallery is proud to present its first solo exhibition opening April 9, 2022 titled ‘Restless’, featuring paintings by Kathryn Lynch. Curated by the director of the Private Public Gallery, Christopher Freeman, the exhibition will run until May 22, 2022.
Kathryn Lynch’s long night walks are more like a deliberate meditation on light and place. Lynch travels the world on the periphery of his senses. She makes quick sketches like notes on compositions in a painting, which end less about the painting of objects and more about the light and feel of a place. Freeman explains, “Kathryn Lynch is a gigantic feeling, which is evident in the paintings on display in ‘RESTLESS’. When looking at Lynch’s work, one clearly feels first and looks later. ”
Lynch’s awe-inspiring paintings are like dreams made real, as they combine moment, memory and the light of a place without the burden of detail. Lynch’s work is heavily loaded with the memory of the events of his life. Kathryn explains, “My walks allow me to capture the light and shapes I mix with a sense of something that I can only communicate through the movement of paint. Walking, noticing and remembering are the important parts of my painting process.
This is the fourth exhibition of the Private Public Gallery, recently established to showcase important contemporary works, in the Hudson Valley region. “RESTLESS” is open to the public from April 09, 2022 through May 22, 2022. Located at 530 Columbia Street in Hudson, NY, the gallery is located in a private setting, so PLEASE TEXT FOR AN APPOINTMENT AT (212) 286 0075.
