RIP Jossara Jinaro – The actress of “Passions” died at 48
Brazilian-born actress Jossara Jinaro who performed the recurring role of Rae Thomas on the NBC daytime drama series “Passions” for several episodes from 2002 to 2007, and appeared as Rosa in a 2006 episode of “The Young and the Restless,” has died. She was only 48 years old. In a post on Jinaro’s official Facebook page, her husband, Matt Bogadosaid Jinaro passed away on April 27 after battling cancer.
“With great sadness, I announce the passing of my wife, Jossara Jinaro on this date, April 27, 2022. Jossara bravely battled cancer and returned home surrounded by his family,” Bogado said in the post. . “Jossara was an incredible wife, mother, artist and friend. She had the most beautiful and kind soul and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Even in her final moments, she was still fighting. She rests now at peace and will be remembered forever. Liam, I and Emrys will miss her so much even though we know she is in our hearts and guides us every step of the way. The message included a photo of Jinaro and Bogado with their two children.
A public memorial service for Jinaro is scheduled to be held in the Bay Area on a date to be determined, Bogado said.
On “Passions,” Rae was the “loud and sexy” club owner who was involved with Simone Russell (played by Cathy Jeneen Doe), the youngest daughter of Eve and TC Russell. Their screenplay received a GLAAD nomination in 2006. Unfortunately, the relationship did not last as Rae was murdered in February 2007 before she could reveal what she knew of Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald (Galen Gering) accused of raping Fancy Crane. Rae’s blackmailer and murderer turned out to be Vincent Clarkson, Valerie Davis’ alter ego.

Outside of the day, Jinaro has had roles in shows such as “Without a Trace,” “Judging Amy,” “ER,” “Southland,” “The Closer,” and “East Los High,” among others. She was also a voice actress with credits that included “Cars 2: The Video Game” and the films “Puss in Boots” and “The Interpreter.” Jinaro recently appeared on an episode of “Animal Kingdom” and starred in the web series “I Am Thee…”
According to her IMDb page, her last credited role is that of Marina del Rey in the movie “10 Tricks”, co-starring alongside Leah Thompson, Sam Henning, Raymond Cruz and Richard Gleson.
