Manipur saw an increase in the daily test positivity rate (TPR) as the rate stood at 3.7% on Sunday. The state reported seven new cases of COVID-19 out of 190 samples tested for the virus. The rate is 3.7% against 1.1% the day before. The seven new cases brought the state’s infection tally to 1,37,156 while the death toll remained unchanged at 2,120 as no deaths linked to the disease were reported that day for the 25th consecutive day.
The state currently has 44 active cases even as the number of recoveries rose to 1,34,992 with the discharge of four patients in same-day recovery. The recovery rate remained at 98.42%. The new cases were reported in Imphal West (3), Thoubal (2) and Ukhrul (2).
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state so far has risen to 28,04,205, with an additional 700 people bitten on Saturday.
As many as 11,88,390 people were fully vaccinated with the first and second doses while a total of 15,48,006 people were vaccinated with the first dose. In addition, 67,809 people have received the precautionary or booster dose of the vaccine so far.
Up to 50.76% of the state’s eligible population received both doses of the vaccine while 61.58% received the first dose, according to the latest data from the state health department.
