Democrat urges US for energy independence and border security: ‘It’s a matter of common sense’

Rep. Josh Gottheimer, DN.J., told “America Reports” on Monday that U.S. energy independence and border security are “common sense.”

JOSH GOTTEIMER: I think I’m focused like you on the common sense, practical things that we can do that actually had a lot of bipartisan support and Problem Solvers caucus co-chair Brian Fitzpatrick we came up with a series of ideas . We thought we had Democrats and Republicans behind, as you pointed out, legislation like the Invest to Protect Act. I brought about investing in law enforcement, making sure they have the resources to protect themselves and us.
Support our veterans and make sure we take care of them and their backs as they should and title 42 make sure we have a comprehensive plan in place to deal with the influx and make sure that we ensure the safety of law enforcement and people, our families. Live up to our values and make sure you protect the dreamers, but also make sure you protect our dreamers… [There are] lots of common sense things we can do if we are willing to work together. We need to get Democrats and Republicans on the same page by working together, and I believe we can do that.
