Biden admin doesn’t make energy independence a ‘worrying’ priority: Lowe

During an interview on “Mornings with Maria,” Washington Examiner commentary writer Tiana Lowe called out the Biden administration for not making energy a major concern.

OIL PRICES CONTINUE TO RALLY, BRENT REACHES $116 A BARREL

TIANA LOWE: It is frankly concerning that this White House’s current priority is not energy independence or, at the very least, trying to get away from more OPEC strangulation. I mean, just think about less than two years ago oil futures went negative. And beware, this was largely due to the COVID demand shock. But still, you know, Joe Biden let our drilling permits on federal land expire. He is currently challenging the restoration of those permits in federal court. And even still, we are importing so much oil from Russia in 2021, the IEA has documented more barrels of Russian oil and oil being imported into the United States than ever before. Russian oil still creates 7% of all our imports, with no signs of stopping. You know, when Kamala Harris was asked on The Today Show what the plan was to change that, there was never a response from the supply side, and I’m sorry, but renewables and solar are not an immediate solution that we could talk about. invest in nuclear expansion. We could talk about investment, but right now that’s the problem. Right now, Americans are being punished at the pumps for what this administration let happen by giving all that power to Putin.
