44 cases, five deaths in the last 24 hours; 0.07% positivity rate | Delhi News


New Delhi: The national capital recorded five deaths from Covid-19 and 44 new cases on Tuesday at a positivity rate of 0.07%.
The city recorded 36 cases on Monday – its smallest single-day increase in more than a year – while the positivity rate stood at 0.06%. It was on April 15 last year that the city recorded 17 cases.
Thirty-seven other patients have recovered from the infection in Delhi, the state government’s health bulletin said. So far 14,10,005 people have recovered, been returned or have migrated out of town. The case fatality rate stands at 1.74, he added.
With the new cases and deaths, the death toll in the city rose to 25,035, while the cumulative number of cases reached 14,35,609. A total of 63,019 Covid-19 tests were performed on Monday, of which 44 368 were RT-PCR / CBNAAT / True Nat tests, while the rest were rapid antigen tests, according to the bulletin.
The number of active cases stands at 569 against 567 recorded the day before. The number of containment zones was 406, a slight drop from 407 a day ago.
According to the bulletin, 183 patients are in home isolation. Meanwhile, of the 12,729 hospital beds, 333 were occupied.
Delhi recorded 59 new cases and four deaths on Saturday, when the positivity rate was 0.08%. On Friday, it recorded 66 cases and one death, while the positivity rate was 0.09%.
A total of 25,985 beneficiaries were vaccinated on Monday, including 9,281 who received the second dose. Up to 93.67,800 beneficiaries have received at least one dose of the vaccine so far, including 22,25,694, who have been fully immunized.
